The Palace of the Dukes of Medinaceli or Cogo Ducal Palace is a Renaissance palace located in Cogo (Guadalajara , Spain ) . It was started to build in the years 1492-1495 and completed in 1502. It was built by the family of Mendoza and is the first to break with the previous type ( primitive Renaissance ) conceived as purely Renaissance building . Commissioned by Luis de la Cerda y Mendoza for the daughter of Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar y Mendoza , named Leonor married to Rodrigo de Mendoza , was designed by Lorenzo Vázquez de Segovia. The palace is located in the town square , a symbolic giving the square.
